Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town has announced and exclusive collaboration with award-winning South African fashion designer and LVMH Prize winner Thebe Magugu.
To launch in December, Magugu will bring his design ethos into luxury hospitality with the launch of the Thebe Magugu Suite and Magugu House Cape Town.
The partnership is a landmark first: Magugu’s debut into luxury hospitality and Belmond’s first Designer Residence concept. The reimagined two-person retreat along Palm Avenue is designed as a sanctuary of culture and contemplation, featuring bespoke wallpapers, rich textures, and a curated collection of contemporary African artworks.
Alongside the suite, the launch of Magugu House Cape Town will create a new cultural space that is part gallery, part boutique. Guests can engage with rotating fashion collections, curated books, artworks from leading African artists, and intimate cultural events, hosted in partnership with Mount Nelson.
Reservations are open via the hotel’s waiting list, offering guests a chance to be among the first to experience this landmark collaboration.
