Nike is on the lookout for boundary-pushing artists, musicians and creatives ready to experiment as part of its upcoming Air Max Residency in Joburg.
Taking place from 16 to 27 March 2026, the programme invites selected participants to explore how Air moves beyond sneakers and into culture, translating the concept into sound, visuals and bold creative expression.
Guided by a powerhouse trio of mentors including DBN Gogo for Music, Thebe Magugu for Fashion and Bahati Simoens for Art, the residency is described as an exploration of Air rooted in music. It focuses on creators who follow their own rhythm, offering a space to develop ideas from early concepts right through to fully realised work.

DBN Gogo shared that she is honoured to be part of the Nike Air Max Residency as a mentor, collaborating with Flame Studios NPC to explore the power of process from beat to song while helping emerging talent refine their craft. By partnering with Flame Studios NPC, the residency aims to nurture new voices and highlight the connection between sound, fashion and artistic storytelling.
