IN A NUTSHELL
- Thebe Magugu introduces the Mafeteng capsule inspired by his Lesotho roots
- Bonang Matheba fronts the campaign, embodying the theme of identity and home
- The limited edition drop lands in stores on 18 April 2026 and online on 23 April 2026
Have to say, this is one of those fashion moments we needed to see happening… a reminder that Bonang Matheba is still the best fashion muse.

Thebe Magugu dropped a new collection and they have decided to tap the one and only Bonang Matheba to front the campaign. The collection is dubbed Mafeteng, a limited-edition capsule grounded in personal history, cultural memory and a deep sense of place.

Named after the small town in Lesotho where his family originates, Mafeteng reflects a return to origin. It is a meditation on lineage and the quiet but powerful influence of where one comes from. Through a tightly edited selection of pieces, Magugu distills this narrative into a refined palette of Bone White and Blood Red, colours that carry both restraint and emotional depth.

At the centre of the campaign is Bonang Matheba, a figure whose presence mirrors the intention behind the collection. Widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential cultural voices, she represents a sense of authorship and self definition that aligns seamlessly with the story of Mafeteng.

Her inclusion is not incidental. It reinforces the capsule’s core idea, The Power of Home. A theme that speaks not only to geography, but to identity, memory and the shaping of perspective over time. In Bonang, Magugu finds a subject who embodies this with clarity and confidence, a woman who has built her own world while remaining rooted in who she is.
Where to get the collection:
The Mafeteng capsule is available exclusively at Magugu House Johannesburg and Magugu House Cape Town and drops online on 23 April 2026.
