Meta and Oakley have joined forces to launch a new kind of smart eyewear made for athletes, creators and fans alike. Introducing the Oakley Meta HSTN, the first product in their new “Performance AI glasses” category. It blends Oakley’s signature sport style with Meta’s growing wearable tech game.
Designed for active use, the Meta HSTN comes packed with a 12MP ultra-wide camera that captures sharp photos and up to 3K video from a first-person view. It also features open-ear speakers built into the arms, letting you stream music, take calls or get AI prompts without blocking out your surroundings.
From splash resistance to voice control, these smart glasses are ready for whatever your day throws at you. With an IPX4 rating, they handle rain, sweat or the occasional water splash. You can activate the built-in Meta AI just by saying “Hey Meta” to check wind speed, find directions or even identify a song.
The campaign for the launch features athletes and cultural icons like J.R. Smith, Ishod Wair, Patrick Mahomes and Kylian Mbappé using the glasses in action. The glasses also work with Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music, and can manage calls and messages via WhatsApp, Messenger and phone apps, with Instagram Direct on the way. Battery life clocks in at 8 hours on a single charge, with an extra 40 hours from the included case.

Preorders for the limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN start on 11 July for $499. A wider release drops later, starting at $399 across the U.S., Canada, the UK and select EU countries.
