IN A NUTSHELL
- adidas dropped a movie for World Cup campaign featuring legendary cast
- The film stars Messi, Bad Bunny, Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane & more
- The visuals celebrate street football culture, freedom and the roots of the game
adidas just delivered one of its biggest football visuals yet, showing us they got no point to prove when it comes to making a legendary statement ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Fronted by Timothée Chalamet, the film feels less like a traditional campaign and more like a full cinematic street football movie. Blending nostalgia, culture and sport, the story follows Chalamet as he assembles the ultimate squad to challenge an undefeated street football crew known for their ruthless “win or go home” streak.

To build the team, he taps into some of the biggest names across football and culture, including Lionel Messi, Bad Bunny, Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal, Trinity Rodman, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero.

The campaign leans heavily into 90s street and terrace culture, pairing analogue aesthetics, vintage hairstyles and retro styling with modern CGI and high energy visual effects. The result feels both nostalgic and futuristic, tapping into the emotional side of football rather than just performance.

At its core, the film pushes a simple message, the game belongs to those who play free. Whether it is a cage pitch, parking lot, dusty patch of grass or the World Cup stage itself, greatness begins in the same place, the backyard.

More than just a campaign rollout, adidas turns football into storytelling, blending generations of legends with today’s rising stars in a way that feels global, cultural and cinematic all at once.
