IN A NUTSHELL
- Boys of Soweto opens a new flagship store in Braamfontein
- Township rooted brand blends esbhujwa culture with a modern cosmopolitan edge
- Interior by K2 Bespoke Space Design merges retail, art and music
We checked the newly opened Boys of Soweto store in Braamfontein and it is more than just a retail space.
The Soweto born brand, founded in 2011 by visionary stylist Vusumuzi Bob Ndima, has grown into a cultural force within the local fashion scene. Known for merging classic isbhujwa culture with a refined, modern aesthetic, Boys of Soweto continues to shape a narrative that is proudly township rooted yet globally aware.

The brand offers collections for both men and women, with garments ranging from knitwear and t-shirts to tailored pants, shirts and carefully considered accessories.

With the new store positioned in the heart of Braamfontein, the label becomes even more accessible to a wider community eager to tap into its distinct identity.
Designed by K2 Bespoke Space Design, the interior balances luxury with artistic expression. At the centre of the store sits a sculptural installation that doubles as both point of sale and DJ counter, complete with decks.

Cantilevered to appear as though it floats, the structure anchors the space while allowing music, movement and conversation to flow naturally around it. It transforms everyday shopping into a social and cultural exchange.

Graphic elements and bold design gestures are softened by warm materials, wooden flooring, ceiling patterns and modern furniture that create an inviting rhythm throughout the store. A striking artwork by Fhatuwani Mukheli adds depth and narrative to the gallery like setting.
The result is a space that feels distinctly African, contemporary and socially charged, where fashion, art and community meet with intention.
The store is located at 68 Juta St, Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
