Marble Hospitality, the group behind some of South Africa’s dining gems including Marble, Saint, Zioux and Pantry by Marble, is preparing to enter the luxury accommodation space with the launch of its first hotel. The five star property will be housed within the highly anticipated Olympus Sandton development.

The hotel will occupy two full floors of the Apollo tower at Olympus Sandton, a mixed use development rising alongside the Discovery building. Valued at R1.736 billion, Olympus Sandton has already made headlines as the most successful residential project in South Africa by unit sales, with over R1.2 billion worth of apartments sold within days of release. Construction begins this month, with completion expected towards the end of 2027.

The 32 room hotel will be located just beneath the penthouses in Tower 2, offering an intimate yet refined luxury experience. Marble Hospitality will retain full ownership of the hotel brand and will manage the property internally, bringing the same creative and experiential approach that has defined its food and beverage portfolio.

Founder and partner Gary Kyriacou says the hotel represents the next evolution of the Marble brand. He notes that the group aims to redefine luxury accommodation by delivering a space that feels personal, design driven, and experience led, building on its established reputation in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The hotel will sit alongside two additional Marble operated venues within the Olympus development. These include a flagship Marble Restaurant on the 18th floor, offering sweeping 360 degree views of Sandton, and a Pantry by Marble outlet on the ground floor. A dedicated breakfast and lunchtime offering is also planned at podium level, creating a seamless lifestyle destination for residents and visitors alike.

Construction on the broader Olympus development began in November 2025 and includes two residential towers as well as premium retail and dining spaces. The Marble Hospitality hotel is expected to open its doors around mid 2028, once the building is fully complete.
