Michael Jordan’s Cincoro tequila makes debut in South Africa

Michael Jordan’s ultra-premium tequila brand, Cincoro, has officially landed in South Africa. The famous five-sided bottle is now available for purchase, bringing more than just smooth sipping to the local market. With price points starting at R1,000 for a Blanco and climbing up to R27,000 for the Extra Añejo, this is not just tequila—it’s a luxury statement.

Cincoro, a name rooted in “Five Gold” (Cinco Oro), was born from the vision of five NBA power players, including MJ himself. Their goal? To create the gold standard of tequila. The bottle design tells that story too—crafted with 23-degree angles as a nod to Jordan’s iconic jersey number and five sides for the founding partners.

The South African debut happened in style. In March, an exclusive launch event took place at Lemkus in Cape Town, hosting only 23 handpicked guests. The invite list featured top-tier tastemakers, creatives, and industry names like Joao Paulo De Saude, Rolo Rozay, and Bubble Koppe’s Justin Ronné. It wasn’t just about the tequila—limited-edition Jordan sneakers were also in the mix, highlighting the brand’s strong cultural crossover.

Cincoro arrives in SA not just as a drink but as a lifestyle, where luxury, legacy, and culture collide. For those who know, it’s more than tequila. It’s a collector’s bottle with a backstory that drinks smooth and looks even smoother on your shelf.
