Apple TV has officially released the trailer for the second season of its high stakes thriller Hijack, confirming the return of Idris Elba as crisis negotiator Sam Nelson. The new eight episode season is set to premiere globally on Wednesday 14 January 2026, with fresh episodes dropping weekly until 4 March.
While the first season kept viewers on edge aboard a hijacked flight, season two takes the tension underground. The new storyline unfolds on a Berlin subway train that has been taken hostage, placing hundreds of commuters in immediate danger. As authorities race against time above ground, Nelson finds himself once again at the centre of the crisis on board, where every decision carries life or death consequences.

Created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, Hijack is produced by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions. The second season brings back familiar faces including Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi, while also introducing new cast members Toby Jones, Lisa Vicari, Christiane Paul, and Clare Hope Ashitey.
Well we can’t wait to see if the second season will be as intense as the first season. But knowing all the gems on Apple TV, we’re looking forward to this new season.
